Dear Fashion,

Please make the following trends disappear, post haste:
But all is not lost, Fashion! You do have some promising prospects on the horizon! Here's what you're doing right:
Yours truly,
Whitney

P.S. Fashion, I know we broke up a couple years ago, but maybe if you get your shit together we can give it another go. How about it?

I agree with almost all of your fashion faux-pas! Except I'm finally giving in to flats and though I don't wear any or own any, I'm still looking for THE flats that turn me to the dark side!

I took a picture of Katie Holmes in to get my haircut last week. I don't know why no hairdesser in the world can please me by giving me what I want! It's always a country bumpkin knockoff version somehow, that or just absolute rubbish.
Can't stand colored jeans. They always look like they came fresh from Goodwill.

I guess I should clarify my feelings on ballet flats...they can be quite cute, especially with the current trends. Especially a pair of plain black flats made of a material that really molds to the foot. And on very skinny girls, a plain black flat with skinny jeans is, I admit, one of my favorite looks. But it's not a very inclusive trend (not that trends ever are, but I think skinny jeans are particularly cruel to non-waifs). Also, my gripe with ballet flats is that they really don't balance well with the fashions I like for fall...a-line skirts that hit just below the knee, for example. I think they require a bit of a heel, or else the legs can look a bit short. Plus I'm really into textures & heavier fabrics & darker colors, which I think look better with a slightly chunky, more serious-looking shoe.

And the best haircut I ever got was when I took a picture of post-split Britney Spears to my hairdresser. I guess she was trying to class it up after ditching K-Fed via text message, before she dyed her hair brown and subsequently shaved her head, and she had this great little bob with bangs.
